There was something about Georgia Jaggers latest shoot in Elle UK that I adored.
Remember when lace was only what old women used as curtains? Then it had it's revival circa 2007 when lace patterns became less "fussy" and more "fashion". Cue the knock-off lace dresses everywhere with a sort of unhealthy shine to their synthetic fabric, well, the same story goes for embellishment. 80's rockers with studded jackets gave way to 90's plastic diamantés and embellishment was given a tacky reputation. Not anymore. Lace has gone back to its dreamy 70's roots. 100% cotton cream lace paired with subtly embellished denim and leather screams feminine force... and this shoot shows it well.
For Easter the Easter bunny (my Mom and Dad) gave me a £30 Gift Voucher for H&M, now H&M is good for the odd basic but I never find much I want in there, I find it's sort of a poor mans (or poor moi's) Zara, but I did find the last of these items there and love it!
Daisy Soft Button Front Bralet £24.00 Topshop, Black Culottes £10.00 (on sale!) Miss Selfridge, Black Skater Skirt £12.99 H&M
This bralet with the skirt OR the pants and creepers or heels is a favourite of mine! I'll be putting my first look up soon, and making a LookBook so stay tuned!
Jones&Jones Skater dress £60.00
Mine. For the British Advertising Awards exclusive after-show party. And for a wedding. And for EVERY DAY BECAUSE IT'S SO PRETTY.
On viewing Jones&Jones dresses fore the first time in the concession section of Topshop, I have to say they are the most cheaply made dresses I have ever seen! So dissapointing as they look so lovely online!
Now, I have no shame in admitting my overdraft is a place I spend most of my time in (well, a bit of shame), but I can't help but wonder if my over-draft would mind helping me out with this:
Diane Von Furstenberg Umeki Silk Dress £167.00
My problem with wearing mostly black is it's starting to make me look like Lisabet from 'Girl With The Dragon Tattoo', so the second option with colour blocking and a more obvious layered hemline is looking quite attractive right about now...
I get the feeling i'd be wearing this dress, my creepers and my black canvas back-pack everywhere.
Oh, and don't get my started on those sandles she's wearing (<3).
For years now i've been saving photos of clothes I need, making wish lists, cutting out things from magazines and making notes of things to buy. I've realised, to wouldn't it be better and easier (not to mention better for the planet) to stop doing this on paper and start a blog about my finds, fashion inspiration and fashion wish lists, if for no other reason than to organise myself? Yes. So here I am.
